Summary/Objective

The role will be responsible for planning and executing order/sales targets and activities for Rail Services in order to increase sales with Transit Authorities in assigned region.

Essential Functions

  • Identify, organize, and prioritize new business opportunities with Transit Authorities/Car Builders to meet strategic business initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships through regular personal visits, as well as telephone and written correspondence. Establish professional and personal relationships with key decision makers at each authority.
  • Assist in creating customer proposals, compiling historical sales data and trends, customer service, and sales forecasting.
  • Actively promote and facilitate the negotiation and presentation of proposals, receipt of purchase, orders and thereafter assist the customer with expediting activity in cooperation with KB Equipment.
  • Coordinate communication and visitation activity including KB management, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Field Service departments at responsible Transit Authorities.
  • Identify and track new product opportunities for all KB systems.
  • Lead or assist special projects to aid in advancement or efficiency of the Rail Service group operations.
  • Periodically review overall customer order activity, to identify accounts which may have decreased in order activity and develop corrective action plans.
  • Assist in resolving open customer issues including technical performance or material delivery concerns.
  • Provide customers with technical bulletins, catalogs, price lists, etc. as available.
  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of Transit products and systems, FRA regulations, requirements, and related publications.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel as needed.

  • Communication Skills - Comprises the ability to speak, present, write, listen, and distribute information effectively and create an environment for open communication.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

  • The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee may be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.
  • Travel up to 75%

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5-7+ years of directly relevant experience in the Rail industry

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Education: MBA
  • 7+ years of Rail Industry experience

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Maryland is $89,900–$134,900 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. KBC is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics of up to 10% of annual salary.
