Territory Manager – Airway Management
Medical Devices | Netherlands
Our client, an established international medical device company, is looking for a Territory Manager to take ownership of its airway portfolio across the north and east of the Netherlands, extending south.
You will be representing the airway portfolio in your patch, with an established customer base to build from and significant scope for growth in hospitals. It is a build role rather than a caretaker one, and it suits someone who enjoys prospecting as much as account management.
You will:
- Take full ownership of the airway portfolio across your territory
- Manage and grow an existing base of hospital accounts
- Identify and open new accounts, including major hospitals with no current relationship
- Build relationships with anaesthetists, intensivists, OR and ICU staff, and procurement stakeholders
- Navigate Dutch hospital purchasing and tender processes end to end
- Deliver product demonstrations, evaluations and clinical training
- Plan and manage your own territory strategy with a high degree of autonomy
- Work alongside two colleagues in the wider Dutch team, offering guidance and support as the more experienced member of the group
- Collaborate with international colleagues on training, sales meetings and wider commercial initiatives
Your background
We are interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Medical device sales into hospitals
- Airway management, anaesthesia or critical care
- Operating theatre or ICU environments
- Capital equipment or clinical consumables
- Territory building and new business development
- Clinical specialist or applications backgrounds moving into commercial roles
You will need a genuine understanding of the Dutch healthcare system, how hospitals buy, who the decision makers are, where budgets sit and who the key opinion leaders are. This is not a role for someone new to medical devices.
Fluency in Dutch and English is required. Day-to-day work with customers will be in Dutch, but training, internal collaboration and company sales meetings are conducted in English, including some international travel.
Why join?
This is a genuinely autonomous role, they are looking for a candidate that can bring their own ideas and approach into the position.
The existing base is stable and the customer relationships are good, but there is territory to be won. There is a real opportunity for someone who wants to build something in the region.
You will also be the most experienced member of a small Dutch team, with the opportunity to support and develop colleagues, a good platform for anyone looking to demonstrate more than territory numbers and to progress in their careers.
A competitive salary and wider benefits package are available.
