The Opportunity

The Inside Sales Representative II supports the Garden Inside Sales team by identifying and qualifying new business, strengthening customer relationships, and executing sales strategies. This role communicates product information across multiple channels and manages the full sales cycle, including pipeline management, target achievement, and accurate Salesforce updates.

How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock

Customer Engagement & Sales Support

  • Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with prospecting, lead qualification, and targeted sales strategies.
  • Communicate product features, benefits, and pricing accurately.
  • Support customer retention efforts by monitoring trends and identifying needs.
  • Join customer visits as needed to build relationships and drive growth.

Sales Strategy & Pipeline Management

  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline through proactive outreach and follow-up.
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, and supporting documentation for customer opportunities.
  • Track all account activity, opportunities, and communications in Salesforce.
  • Support the execution of sales strategies across key accounts and targeted industries.

Product Knowledge & Business Understanding

  • Stay current on the Garden product lines to support customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Program Management, Customer Service, and Operations, to ensure seamless customer experience.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field — or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in sales, or a related role
  • Strong communication and active-listening skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable with outbound calling and customer engagement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Preferably based in the Midwest or East region.
  • Travel required for onsite or offsite customer interactions and team meetings.
  • Coachable, eager to learn, and motivated by growth.
  • Customer-centric with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Takes initiative and follows through on tasks.
  • Persistent, resilient, and enthusiastic about relationship-building.
