Business Development Manager – Hardware & AI Infrastructure
Position Summary
We are seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to spearhead our commercial growth and channel expansion across Malaysia and key Southeast Asian markets. In this role, you will lead end-to-end sales and ecosystem development for our complete hardware lineup—spanning commercial laptops, high-performance gaming laptops, AI Laptops (Copilot+ PCs), and enterprise AI Servers & GPU infrastructure.
You will drive revenue through dual channels: managing direct engagements with Corporate (B2E) and Public Sector (B2G) accounts, while developing and managing top-tier distributors, IT retailers, and system integrators (SIs) to maximize regional market coverage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Channel & Ecosystem Management (Distributors & Retailers)
- Recruit, onboard, and manage key distributors, IT retail chains, and value-added resellers (VARs) across Malaysia and SEA.
- Establish joint go-to-market strategies, channel incentive structures, sell-through targets, and rebate programs to maximize product reach.
- Conduct regular sales enablement, product training, and stock velocity monitoring for distributor and retail sales teams.
- Ensure optimal product availability, shelf presence (online/offline), and campaign execution across key retail partner stores.
2. Direct Sales & Government Relations (B2B / B2G / B2E)
- Drive high-value direct sales opportunities for corporate PC fleets and AI server infrastructure.
- Leverage existing networks to establish relationships within government agencies, statutory bodies, and GLCs.
- Monitor, prepare, and manage government tender submissions (e.g., ePerolehan in Malaysia) and public sector procurement.
3. Regional Travel & Market Expansion
- Travel across Malaysia and SEA (up to 30–40%) to engage key retail partners, distributors, and enterprise decision-makers.
- Represent the company at regional trade shows, product launches, and partner summits.
4. Pipeline & Commercial Execution
- Forecast channel sell-in/sell-through metrics and maintain an accurate direct deal pipeline.
- Collaborate with internal operations and pre-sales engineers to resolve fulfillment, warranty, and technical query bottlenecks.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 4 to 6 years of business development or channel sales experience handling hardware, PC products, or IT infrastructure.
- Channel & Direct Expertise: Proven track record in managing distributor networks, consumer/commercial retail channels, as well as closing direct B2B / B2G deals.
- Network & Tenders: Established contacts with key IT distributors and retailers in Malaysia/SEA, alongside familiarity with government procurement processes.
- Product Aptitude: Good understanding of commercial PC hardware, consumer gaming laptops, AI PC trends (NPUs, Copilot+), and enterprise AI server compute.
- Mobility: Flexible and willing to travel across Malaysia and SEA for partner visits and executive meetings.
- Languages: Professional fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required; proficiency in Mandarin or regional languages is an advantage for channel partner management.
- Attributes: Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, relationship-building capability, and target orientation.
Compensation & Performance Scheme
- Base Salary: Competitive monthly base salary aligned with market standards.
- Performance Commission: Structured, tier-capped annual commission/bonus scheme tied to target achievement (Sell-In / Sell-Through & Revenue KPIs).
- Benefits: Travel allowance, medical coverage, and regional exposure.
