Our client, a premier international law firm, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives and strategic positioning for their global M&A and related corporate practice groups. This role offers high visibility, direct collaboration with partners, and management of a small, dedicated support team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Practice & Relationship Development: Support global partners in managing and growing relationships with in-house counsel, investment bankers, and C-suite executives.
- Pitch & RFP Management: Lead the preparation of high-impact presentations, pitch books, deal sheets, and competitive RFP responses.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct ongoing competitive research and report on emerging market trends to identify high-value business opportunities.
- Rankings & Visibility: Oversee league table submissions, legal directory entries (Chambers, etc.), and partner with the Communications team to maximize PR and social media visibility.
- Knowledge Management: Manage the M&A experience database, tracking matter details and drafting compelling marketing descriptions.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of business development experience within a top-tier U.S. law firm, investment bank, or financial institution.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of corporate/transactional terminology and processes.
- Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and analytical skills (a writing test is required). Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office Suite (Excel, PPT).
- Communication: Confident, professional demeanor with a proven track record of collaborating effectively with executive or partner-level stakeholders.
- Education: BA/BS required; a JD, MBA, or advanced degree is a plus.
Location: Financial District
Hours: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM (with overtime as needed)
Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000
