Director of Sales - Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing
Company: Global Filtration Inc.
Location: Waco, Texas - On-site
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt Leadership Position
Compensation: Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus and commission incentives. Final compensation will depend on experience, aerospace/defense sales background, leadership history, and revenue-production capability.

Global Filtration Inc. is a Waco, Texas-based aerospace, aviation aftermarket, defense, and industrial filtration company serving mission-critical filtration markets. Global Filtration provides aircraft filtration solutions, FAA-PMA filtration products, cabin air filters, nitrogen gas filters, hydraulic filtration solutions, inspection kits, hardware, and custom filtration support for aviation and industrial customers. The company is also expanding its sales focus into defense, government contracting, military heavy equipment, and tank machinery filtration applications.
This is not a passive sales management role. Global Filtration is building a stronger national sales platform and needs a hands-on sales leader who can create structure, enforce accountability, build pipeline discipline, coach account executives, manage CRM usage, improve quote follow-up, and personally assist in closing strategic accounts.
Position Summary
The Director of Sales will lead all revenue-generating sales activity for Global Filtration Inc. This position reports to Rick Caouette, President, and is responsible for building a high-accountability sales organization across aerospace, FAA-PMA, MRO, commercial aviation, defense, government, industrial, distributor, and strategic-account channels.
The Director of Sales will manage sales strategy, pipeline, CRM discipline, forecasting, quoting standards, territory performance, customer retention, new-business development, account-executive accountability, and executive sales reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all revenue-generating sales activity for the company.
- Build, manage, coach, and hold accountable the sales team.
- Develop aerospace, FAA-PMA, MRO, defense, government, industrial, distributor, and strategic accounts.
- Manage CRM activity, pipeline stages, forecasting, quotes, customer follow-up, and opportunity movement.
- Conduct daily activity reviews, weekly sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and monthly sales-performance reviews.
- Assign territories, monitor quota achievement, and maintain account-ownership discipline.
- Improve quote follow-up, close rates, customer communication, and sales documentation.
- Recruit, train, and coach account executives and sales-support personnel.
- Build relationships with airlines, MROs, FAA repair stations, aerospace distributors, prime contractors, defense suppliers, government buyers, and industrial filtration customers.
- Support sales growth into military heavy equipment and tank machinery filtration markets.
- Coordinate with purchasing, planning, quality, production, warehouse, accounting, and executive leadership to ensure customer commitments are realistic and professionally managed.
- Report sales performance, pipeline, forecast, quota achievement, and strategic-account activity to executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of B2B sales experience.
- 3+ years of sales management, sales leadership, or business-development leadership experience.
- Proven ability to manage quotas, pipeline, forecasting, CRM activity, sales meetings, and sales accountability.
- Experience selling technical, industrial, aerospace, aviation, defense, government, manufacturing, filtration, hydraulic, fuel, oil, or engineered products.
- Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and executive-account-management skills.
- Ability to operate in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work on-site in Waco, Texas and travel as needed for customers, trade shows, and strategic opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace, FAA-PMA, MRO, aviation aftermarket, defense, government-contracting, hydraulic, fuel, or filtration industry experience.
- Experience selling to airlines, repair stations, distributors, OEMs, prime contractors, military depots, government buyers, or industrial maintenance customers.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, quotation systems, customer qualification, supplier approval, and technical documentation.
- Experience scaling a founder-led or owner-led sales organization into a structured, quota-driven department.
Performance Expectations
- Build a disciplined, measurable sales organization.
- Improve daily sales activity, quote follow-up, CRM usage, and forecast accuracy.
- Drive new customer acquisition and existing-account expansion.
- Increase pipeline value, close rate, gross margin awareness, and revenue predictability.
- Create clear accountability for account executives and sales support personnel.
- Support Global Filtration's strategic growth across aerospace, aviation aftermarket, defense, government, industrial, and military heavy equipment markets.
Schedule
Global Filtration's standard office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Sales leadership schedules may vary based on territory requirements, customer meetings, travel, trade shows, and strategic-account needs.
