Core Mission
Support the development and growth of hardlines business in the DACH markets by engaging brands, retailers, sourcing companies, traders, and suppliers. Introduce and support sales of testing, inspection, audit and other value-added quality and compliance solutions as part of integrated quality, safety, and compliance risk-management services. Actively support market analysis, prospecting, lead generation, and account development under guidance of senior commercial and regulatory experts.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a commercial strategy to grow Hardlines services in DACH + Poland.
- Identify, target and convert brands, retailers, trading companies and sourcing offices across key product categories (furniture, toys, home decoration, kitchenware/food contact, DIY/tools, E&E appliances and consumer electronics).
- Build and manage a strong pipeline, from prospecting and lead generation to closing and account growth.
- Position API as a holistic solutions provider, selling concepts and integrated programs rather than isolated services.
- Work closely with internal operations, quality and compliance teams to design and deliver tailored inspection, testing and audit programs.
- Develop long‑term relationships with key accounts and stakeholders (quality/product compliance, sourcing/procurement, sustainability/CSR, suppliers and agents).
Profile and experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in B2B business development, key account management or commercial roles.
- At least 5 years in business development, sourcing, compliance or supply‑chain roles within Hardlines.
- Proven track record selling services or solutions into Hardlines supply chains.
- Strong knowledge of the DACH Hardlines market and ecosystem (brands, retailers, sourcing companies).
- Exposure to multiple Hardlines product segments (furniture, toys, home decoration, kitchenware/food contact, DIY/tools/home improvement, E&E appliances, lighting, consumer electronics).
- Working knowledge of inspections, testing and social/technical/environmental audits, plus key German regulatory requirements for at least one of the above categories.
- You are fluent in German.
