Location: Dublin, Ireland (with regular international travel)
Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Europlan Services is a leading Irish EPC provider of construction and engineering solutions, delivering a comprehensive range of engineering design, procurement, project management, construction, health and safety consultancy, and recruitment services. Since 1977, we have built a strong international presence, supporting multinational corporations and SMEs across Ireland, the UK, Japan, the Philippines, and the Middle East.
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Lead to drive new business growth across the data centre, renewable energy, and oil & gas sectors. The successful candidate will identify and pursue new leads, build lasting relationships with key decision-makers, and close high-value deals with multinational clients across our international markets, selling the full breadth of Europlan's EPC service offering.
This is a senior, high-impact role reporting directly to the Director, with responsibility for leading a Business Development team based in Ireland, Scotland, Japan and the Philippines. The role requires a proactive, sales-driven mindset, strong commercial acumen, cross-cultural leadership, and the ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Proactively identify, generate, and qualify new business leads across the data centre, renewable energy, and oil & gas sectors.
• Build and develop long-term relationships with key decision-makers at multinational corporations and large SMEs, positioning Europlan as a trusted EPC partner.
• Sell the full range of Europlan's services - engineering design, procurement, project management, construction, health and safety consultancy, and recruitment services - to prospective and existing clients.
• Schedule and lead client meetings, presentations, and site visits, guiding opportunities from first contact through to signed contract.
• Negotiate and close high-value deals with large entities across our international markets.
• Represent Europlan Services at industry conferences, trade expos, and networking events internationally, building brand visibility and generating new leads.
• Conduct ongoing market research to identify emerging opportunities, track competitor activity, and understand client needs across the data centre, renewable energy, and oil & gas sectors.
• Leverage market insight and sector knowledge to shape a targeted, informed business development strategy.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a Business Development team spanning Ireland, Scotland, Japan and the Philippines, setting targets, coaching performance, and ensuring alignment with company strategy across time zones and cultures.
• Travel regularly and extensively to client sites, conferences, and regional offices in the UK, Japan, the Philippines, the Middle East, and other markets as required.
• Maintain an accurate, up-to-date pipeline, reporting on lead generation, deal progress, and market intelligence to the Director and senior leadership.
• Collaborate with operations and delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover of won business and long-term client satisfaction.
What We're Looking For:
• Substantial business development or sales experience within construction, engineering, or infrastructure services, with direct exposure to data centre, renewable energy, and/or oil & gas projects.
• A proven track record of generating leads, building client relationships, and closing high-value deals.
• Proven experience managing international, multinational client relationships across multiple markets and cultures.
• Prior experience leading or managing a team, ideally one that is geographically distributed.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to understand client needs and position Europlan's full service offering effectively.
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills at C-suite and senior management level.
• Outstanding networking, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with confidence representing the company at conferences and expos.
• Strong market research skills, with the ability to translate market insight into actionable business development strategy.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
Desirable Experience:
• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline.
• Experience selling into EPC, engineering, or professional services markets (e.g. project management, procurement, health and safety, or recruitment services).
• Experience operating across different time zones and cultural business norms.
• Existing network of contacts within data centre, renewable energy, or oil & gas markets.
