Commercial Manager

PuntoUP Professional Recruitment is recruiting a Commercial Manager on behalf of an international independent power producer active in the renewable energy sector across Central and Eastern Europe. The role is based in Bucharest and focuses on structuring and executing energy sales agreements and battery storage optimization deals for corporate clients in Romania. Location: Bucharest, Romania (hybrid, with regular regional travel)

Main Purpose of the Job: The Commercial Manager will drive the execution of long-term energy sales agreements (PPAs), battery energy storage system (BESS) optimization contracts, and balancing services for corporate clients in Romania, working closely with the local team and the group's Commercial & Risk function. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who can move deals from first conversation to signed contract quickly.

Job Profile:

• Take ownership of commercial negotiations and contract execution for long-term energy agreements, BESS optimization, and balancing services with corporate clients in Romania.
• Structure and price long-term energy contracts, including the development of advanced or non-standard contract solutions.
• Evaluate clients' consumption profiles to propose the most suitable commercial structure and route-to-market solution.
• Support and build on the existing origination effort, converting client relationships and leads into signed agreements.
• Track and interpret medium- to long-term power market drivers relevant to deal structuring, including regional and cross-border dynamics.
• Collaborate closely with the Commercial and Risk team and other internal stakeholders through regular reporting and deal updates.
• Travel periodically within Romania, and occasionally across the region, to meet clients and internal teams.

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in the energy market, ideally gained within a traditional energy company, utility, or independent power producer.
• Demonstrated track record of closing and executing commercial energy contracts (such as PPAs or supply agreements) with corporate clients.
• Solid understanding of physical energy delivery and balancing responsibilities toward end consumers.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate independently in a fast-moving environment.
• Excellent negotiation, client relationship, and analytical skills.
• Comfortable working with international teams across multiple countries.
• Professional proficiency in English; German is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Based in or willing to work from Bucharest, with willingness to travel regularly.
