NGEN's proprietary SG Connect Energy Management Platform — recognized with the EUPD Research Top Innovation Award 2026, is seeking a skilled and business-savvy Business Development Manager to lead our Large Scale Behind-The-Meter (BTM) battery project development initiatives in Romania with the potential for further expansion across Europe. The Development Manager will be responsible for building a team of project developers who will report to them and manage all phases of utility-scale battery projects development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business models for Electricity Retailers and Behind The Meter “BTM” batteries with large industries.
  • Create and implement new business models for Hybridization.
  • Manage key accounts (Large Commercial & Industrial and Electricity Retailers) and build strong relationships with large customers.
  • Negotiate and optimize energy contracts and assets with large customers.
  • Conduct pre-sales analysis for BTM batteries and present case studies for BTM batteries for industries, energy communities and electricity retailers.
  • Identify and access European and National subsidies for energy storage.
  • Lead the submission of responses to public tenders/auctions.
  • Provide technical project management support to NGEN Group CTO and Project Engineering team locally.
  • Coordinate with NGEN HQ Trading and Analytical teams to adapt Trading strategies to the Baltic context.

Qualifications

  • Highly organized, able to simultaneously manage multiple projects in various stages without missing deadlines
  • Autonomous, self-motivated, and proactive in executing tasks and achieving results
  • Strong understanding of the needs of large Industrial and Commercial customers and the integration of NGEN battery projects into their business objectives
  • Solid technical grounding in power and electrical systems
  • Deep knowledge of the electricity markets in Central and Eastern European area and how batteries integrate into it.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interact with diverse stakeholders such as CEOs, facility managers, city planners, and utility planners
  • Aggressive approach to risk management, proactively addressing potential issues before they impact project timelines
  • Experience in contracts, real estate, utility planning, energy infrastructure, energy policy, and local permitting preferred
  • Electrical Engineering or Business Master’s degree
  • Fluency in English and Romanian
  • At least 5 years of experience in relevant industry.
