About The Role

As the Business Development Manager, working very closely the Regional Sales managers, you will take responsibility for identifying, finding new adviser opportunities, ensuring that inflows opportunities are maximised and support the overall sales strategy.

There will be a focus on growing the number of active advisers using the Wealthtime platform seeking out new opportunities to grow adviser user firms within the region. This will be achieved through telephone and web-based meetings but will also involve meeting advisers face to face.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Relationship Management

  • Identify, target, and engage new adviser firms through proactive outbound calling, web‑based meetings, and wider sales campaigns.
  • Build, nurture, and retain strong adviser relationships to drive organic inflows, increase assets under management, and support long‑term profitable growth.
  • Act as the main point of contact for adviser firms, providing high‑quality service, insights, and guidance to enhance their business outcomes.
  • Support Regional Sales Managers in implementing regional business plans and securing new opportunities.

Sales Delivery & Performance Management

  • Meet and exceed qualitative and quantitative targets, including new business flows and regional KPIs.
  • Track performance against annual objectives and maintain accurate, consistent activity records in Salesforce.
  • Promote platform features, services, and propositions to grow usage and identify new commercial opportunities.

Training, Onboarding & Platform Adoption

  • Deliver training to adviser firms—covering new starters, refresher sessions, new functionality, and best‑practice platform use.
  • Project‑manage onboarding, new account setup, migrations, and key growth opportunities.
  • Resolve adviser issues, manage escalations, and close training or process gaps to support successful adoption.

Market & Technical Expertise

  • Maintain a strong understanding of financial services markets, competitor propositions, and industry developments.
  • Build and demonstrate technical knowledge of the Wealthtime platform, product range, and adviser business processes (e.g., CIP/CRP).
  • Gather adviser feedback to inform proposition enhancements and improve adviser NPS.

Collaboration & Internal Partnerships

  • Work closely with Customer Experience, wider sales teams, internal stakeholders, and third‑party partners to deliver outstanding service and resolve issues.
  • Share market intelligence, competitor insights, and sales ideas to support broader commercial objectives.

Professionalism & Brand Representation

  • Represent the company at events, conferences, and across social media to enhance brand presence.
  • Role model company purpose and behaviours, maintaining professionalism, accountability, and effective time management.
  • Competently use internal tools and systems, especially Salesforce, to manage adviser relationships and sales activity.

You will have a passion to learn and develop, as well as like a challenge and embrace the ownership of your regions and role responsibilities, with a natural aptness for problem solving.

Supporting the successful onboarding and adoption of the platform through training and education. Training new firms engaged by RSMs on the platform.

About You

Specialist Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Essential

  • Experience in business development roles selling products and services to a client base in a business-to-business environment
  • Experience in telephone-based sales and relationship management
  • A track record of delivering against targets, ideally for platform inflows.
  • Proven experience of working in high pace, regulated financial services environments
  • Experience and knowledge in delivering campaigns, aligning content and activity to maximise return on investment
  • Experience of project management, including the migration of assets
  • Proven track record in seeking out and developing new business opportunities.
  • A passion for identifying, developing and executing new ideas.
  • Able to build and maintain strong client relationships, working in partnership to achieve business goals.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Networking skills – be able to create, develop and preserve relationships with external and internal parties.
  • A strong team player, who is comfortable working with other members in the team.
  • Comfortable working with other departments, bringing together people from different areas of the business.
  • Ability to challenge existing practices, suggesting solutions, improvements and new initiatives.
  • Able to develop strategies and partnerships by using market research and analysis.

Desirable

  • Platform knowledge and experience
  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Services (or working towards it)
  • Educated to a of A-Level or equivalent, but preferably to degree level or equivalent.
