Are you passionate about the rural sector and energised by creating opportunities and building meaningful relationships?

We're looking for a Business Development Manager for our Rural team to drive growth for this important practice at Old Mill. Sitting within Kinbrook Group's Marketing, Business Development and Communications Centre of Excellence, you'll work closely with our Rural leaders to identify opportunities, strengthen relationships and generate sustainable growth across the South West in one of the group's most important sectors.

This is not just a sales role. Success comes from understanding the challenges facing farming and rural businesses, building trusted relationships with clients and referrers, and connecting people with the right expertise at the right time.

You'll take the lead on developing opportunities, building a strong pipeline, increasing our profile within the rural community and representing the group across industry events and networks. Working alongside advisers, sector leaders and marketing specialists, you'll play a key role in shaping the future growth of our Rural proposition.

About Us

At Old Mill, we believe that respect, trust and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do. With more than 350 professionals, we combine the close-knit culture of a local firm with the capabilities of a much larger organisation.

We work with a broad range of clients across rural, corporate, private client, and financial planning sectors, building long-term relationships and delivering advice that is personal, practical and forward-thinking. As part of the Kinbrook Group, our people benefit from broader opportunities, shared expertise and continued investment whilst retaining the collaborative, people-first culture that makes Old Mill special.

Requirements

This role would suit someone who enjoys spotting opportunities, growing relationships, and helping rural businesses succeed.

You'll bring:

  • Experience in business development, relationship management, account management or a similar client-facing role
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to identify growth opportunities
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Experience managing opportunities, pipelines or business development activity
  • The ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with colleagues across the Group
  • A genuine interest in the rural sector and the challenges facing rural businesses
  • Experience within professional services, agriculture, rural consultancy, banking, property or land management would be particularly valuable

What You'll Get

You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team where people are encouraged to take ownership, share ideas and continue developing their skills.

This is a role that offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to contribute to a growing business whilst working alongside experienced finance professionals.

If you're looking for your next challenge and enjoy being part of a team that genuinely works together, we'd love to hear from you.
