Job OverviewThe Manager of Commercial Development will work directly with our retail dealer network. They will focus on identifying and delivering business improvements that align with the company’s retail channel strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess sales and market data. Produce reports that will be used to identify opportunities within our retail channel.
  • Collaborate with Product VPs and Senior Management on identifying business improvements while working with appropriate internal and external stakeholders on executing plans with our retail channel.
  • Manage dealer business plans, establishing goals that meet company objectives and provide continuous follow up with dealers and appropriate stakeholders to ensure successful plan execution.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual marketing plans including long- and short-term strategies.
  • Collaborates closely with John Deere Construction & Forestry Division on improvements to the business plan along with communication with the John Deere dealers.
  • Develop and implement dealer performance reports and communicate key performance indicators to dealers.
  • Proposes, budgets and executes tactical marketing programs to drive sales and order activity.
  • Resolves conflicts and facilitates changes to ensure objective fulfillment and swift responses to marketing problems and opportunities.
  • Maintain and renew deep knowledge and understanding of the organization’s policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct. Responsible for identifying potential noncompliance with the organization’s policies and taking appropriate action.
  • Communicate findings and insights to internal leadership to support strategic initiatives and resource allocation.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between internal departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Retail Channel Development, sales, or a related field.
  • Experience in developing strategic partnerships and alliances.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Retail Channel Manager or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, business strategy, and client relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on building long-term partnerships.
  • Ability to develop and execute business strategies that align with company goals.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific tools and platforms.
  • Ability to develop relationships that will help foster opportunities for big market growth.
  • Thoroughly understand business prospects and key value drivers by driving two-way communication.
  • Knowledge and proficient utilization of MS office programs, specifically Excel (advanced functions such as pivot tables, etc.), Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI

Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear, required to frequently sit, stand; walk; gross hand and finger dexterity; occasionally reach outward with hands and arms; rarely climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee will have lite travel and work in and out of the office. This role will be 50% in office and 50% travel.
