Role Description This full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role is based in Bengaluru North. The position involves identifying and developing new business opportunities across ABEC’s trade show and conference portfolio, including prospecting and qualifying leads, managing sales pipelines, and closing deals with exhibitors, sponsors, and partners. The Business Development Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and associations, while actively gathering market intelligence to inform event strategies and revenue plans. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering sales presentations, negotiating commercial terms, collaborating closely with marketing and operations teams to align business development goals, and tracking performance against sales targets. The role also requires regular reporting, participation in industry events for networking, and contributing to long-term growth initiatives for existing and new exhibition formats.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, B2B sales, or account management, ideally within exhibitions, conferences, media, or related industries.
- Strong skills in lead generation, pipeline management, negotiation, and deal closure, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers and diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to strategic planning for events and portfolios.
- High level of organization, time management, and follow-through, with the capacity to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, management, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Proficiency with CRM tools, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and basic data reporting; experience with sales dashboards is beneficial.
