Compensation: $55,000 Base Salary + 20% Monthly Bonus
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities while expanding market presence and driving revenue growth.
This field-based role is responsible for prospecting new customers, developing strategic partnerships, strengthening existing client relationships, and collaborating with internal sales teams to maximize sales performance. The ideal candidate possesses a hunter mentality, thrives in a fast-paced sales environment, and enjoys building long-term customer relationships.
This position requires regular travel throughout the assigned territory and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's continued growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Prospecting- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events.
- Develop new customer relationships while expanding existing accounts.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently generate qualified leads.
- Research market trends and identify opportunities for business expansion.
- Develop strategic plans to increase market share and revenue growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Conduct regular customer visits to identify opportunities for additional product placement and account growth.
- Understand customer needs and develop customized solutions that support business objectives.
- Address customer concerns while providing exceptional service and ongoing account support.
- Develop and implement territory growth strategies.
- Identify new markets and sales opportunities.
- Analyze competitor activity and market trends to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Recommend initiatives that improve sales performance and customer engagement.
- Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Support and train sales representatives to improve product placement and customer relationships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to execute strategic sales initiatives.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's products, services, and competitive positioning.
- 3–5 years of business development, outside sales, or related sales experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent sales experience will also be considered.
- Strong prospecting and business development skills with a hunter mentality.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experience selling food products, consumer packaged goods (CPG), distribution, wholesale products, or related industries.
- Experience developing new territories and growing existing customer accounts.
- Experience training or mentoring sales representatives.
- Strong strategic planning and market development experience.
