Our client, a leading provider of steel processing and industrial manufacturing services, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships. This individual will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing sales strategies, and collaborating with internal teams to achieve revenue and profitability goals.


The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven sales professional with experience in manufacturing, steel, metals, or industrial services who possesses a strong hunter mentality while maintaining exceptional customer relationships.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to identify and secure new customers and markets.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities for additional business.
  • Prospect and establish relationships with potential clients through networking, customer visits, industry events, and strategic outreach.
  • Identify emerging markets, industry trends, and competitive opportunities to support long-term business growth.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, operations, engineering, quality, and customer service teams to ensure customer expectations and profitability objectives are achieved.
  • Prepare customer proposals, quotations, and commercial presentations tailored to customer requirements.
  • Support pricing negotiations and contract discussions while ensuring competitive positioning.
  • Analyze sales performance, market conditions, and business trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Represent the organization at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events throughout North America.
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership regarding sales activity, pipeline development, and market opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Five or more years of successful business development, sales, or account management experience within manufacturing or industrial markets.
  • Proven ability to generate new business while managing and growing existing customer relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience developing customer proposals, quotations, and commercial solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities with a customer-focused mindset.

Preferred Experience

  • Automotive OEM and Tier supplier sales experience.
  • Knowledge of steel processing, coil processing, metals, aluminum, stamping, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience expanding business into new industries and emerging markets.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and production methods.
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships and long sales cycles.
