A tight-knit team headquartered in Auckland with nationwide reach, they hold a genuinely strong position across the research, clinical, and industrial laboratory markets, supplying reagents, consumables, and instrumentation to customers nationwide.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to customers, building commercial partnerships and taking ownership of their accounts like it's their own business.
Why This Role?
You'll be the single point of accountability for the commercial relationship, pricing strategy, account planning, and customer experience across your accounts, spanning dairy, food manufacturing, contract testing, and environmental testing.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Own and grow a national portfolio of industrial key accounts
- Design and execute your own promotions and campaigns, without layers of internal approval slowing you down
- Hold real authority over your own pricing and commercial decisions
- Shape your own travel pattern, 4-6 nights a month structured however suits you best
- Work autonomously while being supported by an experienced, collaborative and down to earth team, with one day a week set aside for forecasting, planning and admin
About You
- Strong ownership mentality, doesn't wait to be told what to do
- Proactive, confident communicator across all levels of a customer's organisation
- Persuasive and composed in senior-level negotiations
- Commercially astute, able to identify and manage risk in contract-heavy environments
- Highly organised, able to prioritise across a broad and varied portfolio
- Comfortable balancing strategic account planning with hands-on, field-based execution
- A genuine team player who shares knowledge and supports colleagues
Prior Experience:
- 3-5 years' in a sales or key account management position
- Backgrounds in dairy, food manufacturing, contract testing, or environmental testing
- A background or tertiary qualification in science (e.g. chemistry, biochemistry, food technology, or environmental science) is a plus, though relevant industry experience is equally valued and this is not a strict requirement
