Purpose of the role

We are seeking a highly driven and ambitious Business Development Manager to lead the national growth of our advanced barbed suture portfolio, supported by a complementary range of Haemostats and Cardiac, Vascular & Thoracic products.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our long-term suturing growth strategy across multiple surgical specialties. Working collaboratively with our specialty-focused sales teams, you will act as the national clinical and commercial expert, unlocking growth opportunities and driving adoption nationwide.

This role is ideal for a motivated product specialist with strong clinical credibility, theatre experience, and clear aspirations toward improved patient outcomes.

Location / Territory: Ireland (IOI)

Reporting line: National Sales Manager, Surgical Innovations

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to identify, pursue, and convert sales opportunities leveraging the Surgical innovations and wider M.E.D. Surgical sales team
  • Lead national sales growth of the barbed suture portfolio across multiple specialties including: Gynaecology, Urology, Plastics & Dermatology, General Surgery & Orthopaedics
  • Act as the national product and clinical expert for the suturing portfolio, supported by Haemostat and Cardiac, Vascular & Thoracic products
  • Collaborate closely and leverage the specialty-aligned sales teams to: Identify and unlock new sales opportunities & drive consistent national messaging and best practice
  • Deliver high-impact clinical support, in-theatre training, and product demonstrations across multiple specialties
  • Build, maintain, and leverage strong relationships with surgeons, theatre staff, and key clinical stakeholders
  • Support product evaluations, trials, and conversions, working closely with clinical and procurement teams
  • Contribute to national strategy, forecasting, and launch planning for suturing and related portfolios

Role Requirements

  • Proven theatre and clinical experience across multiple surgical specialties
  • Strong understanding of the surgical environment and decision-making process
  • High level of confidence working with senior surgeons and clinical teams
  • Willingness to travel nationally
  • Self-motivated, dynamic, and comfortable operating at pace in a growth-focused role
  • Previous suturing experience (barbed sutures advantageous but not essential)
  • Existing relationships with surgeons across one or more of the target specialties
  • Experience in product specialist, clinical specialist, or surgical sales roles
  • Demonstrated interest in business development and strategic growth
