This Business Development manager will help expand in the East region and has potential to be based in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Illinois.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute business development strategies that expand the company’s position in wire harness and cable assembly markets.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within target industries including automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, Data Center, telecommunications, medical devices, and related markets.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline by engaging prospects, key accounts, distribution partners, and internal sales teams.
- Partner with engineering, operations, quality, product management, and commercial teams to define customer needs and deliver competitive, value-based solutions.
- Lead customer discussions, proposal development, quoting alignment, and commercial negotiations to support profitable growth.
- Maintain strong knowledge of customer applications, market trends, competitive activity, industry standards, and emerging technologies impacting wire harness and cable assembly solutions.
- Strengthen relationships with existing customers while developing new contacts across engineering, sourcing, operations, and executive-level stakeholders.
- Provide accurate forecasting, pipeline updates, opportunity tracking, and business insights to leadership.
- Support strategic partnerships with suppliers, manufacturers, and industry stakeholders to enhance market reach and solution capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or a related commercial role within wire harnesses, cable assemblies, electronics, or adjacent industries.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business, manage opportunities, and achieve revenue growth targets.
- Strong understanding of technical products, customer applications, manufacturing processes, and commercial value drivers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.
- Experience supporting customers in automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial, telecommunications, or medical device markets.
- Technical training, certifications, or hands-on experience related to cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electronics, or interconnect solutions.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop custom engineered solutions.
