BDR Lead

About BMNS
BMNS is a 25+ year nearshore operating partner helping U.S. mid-market companies build real, integrated teams across Latin America — full-time employees who sit on the client's org chart, not outsourced contractors. Clients typically save 40–50% versus an equivalent U.S. hire while getting stronger retention and talent quality. We're now applying that same discipline internally: building BMNS's own outbound sales motion for the first time, from scratch.
The Role
We're hiring a Founding BDR / Outbound Lead to build and prove BMNS's first real outbound motion — LinkedIn, cold email (Instantly), and calling where it makes sense — working directly alongside BMNS's Head of Sales & Client Success. This is a builder's role before it's an execution role: the first one to two months are about designing and testing the actual playbook — who we target, what we say, which channel converts — not running someone else's finished script. Once that playbook is proven, the same person owns it day to day, and gets to say they built it.
Phase 1 — Build (Roughly the First 1–2 Months)
- Work side by side with the Head of Sales & Client Success to design and test outbound sequences across LinkedIn, email (Instantly), and calling.
- Build the first target lists, starting with a high-conviction segment: companies currently using an incumbent staffing/offshore provider (including competitors, and Philippines/India-based teams) who are a good fit to switch — plus BMNS's three core buyer segments: PE-backed Services; PE-backed Industrial, Logistics & Distribution; and growth-stage, VC-backed Consumer brands.
- Draft, test, and refine messaging in real time — ship an imperfect version, see what gets replies, adjust. We need someone who tests fast, not someone who needs the perfect message before hitting send.
- Get fluent in HubSpot (our CRM) and stand up the supporting tools (Instantly, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, a dialer, list-enrichment tools) needed to actually run and track the motion.
- Set up website visitor tracking (via HubSpot and/or a de-anonymization tool) and build the process for mapping who's visiting the site back to active outreach campaigns and target accounts.
- Design a first lead-scoring framework in HubSpot — blending firmographic fit (segment, revenue, sponsor-backed status) with behavioral signal (website visits, email opens, LinkedIn engagement) — so outreach can be prioritized by real signal, not just worked down a flat list.
Phase 2 — Prove It (Ongoing)
- Own and run the outbound motion day to day: booking qualified meetings with the right buyers — CFOs, HR Directors, COOs/VPs of Operations, and, on PE-backed deals, sponsor-side operating partners.
- Track website visit activity as a live signal — prioritize and time outreach around accounts and contacts showing real engagement, not just a cold list.
- Report on what's working and what isn't — daily during the first 60 days, weekly after — with real input into what changes next.
- Continuously refine targeting, lead scoring, and messaging based on real response and engagement data, not what looks good on paper.
What We Need From You
- ~7 years of B2B outbound sales experience, ideally in services or another relationship-driven, non-SaaS sale — staffing or recruiting-adjacent experience is a strong plus. You've personally built target lists, written and run cold email/LinkedIn sequences, and picked up the phone before. This is not a fit for someone whose background is inbound, or taking calls that were already booked for them.
- A genuine builder mentality: comfortable with ambiguity, biased toward shipping something imperfect today and improving it tomorrow rather than perfecting a plan before testing it.
- Strong professional English, written and spoken — you'll be reaching U.S.-based buyers directly. An accent is not a barrier; clarity and fluency are what matter.
- Based in or able to work from the San José, Costa Rica area, with the flexibility to be in the BMNS office several days a week.
- Comfortable working in close, frequent partnership with a hands-on, tactical sales leader — this is a build-it-together role, not a hand-off-and-check-in-monthly one.
- Some comfort with website visitor tracking/intent tools and basic lead scoring — you don't need to be a data analyst, but you should be able to look at who's visiting the site and engaging with outreach and use it to decide who to contact next and when.
