Role Overview
Medicilon is seeking a Business Development professional to establish and expand business operations in the United States. This role will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and driving growth within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of preclinical drug development, experience working with biotech/pharma clients, and the ability to independently develop business opportunities in a competitive life sciences market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities to support company growth.
- Manage client engagement throughout the business development process.
- Prepare and deliver proposals, RFP responses, cost estimates, and commercial agreements.
- Monitor U.S. pharmaceutical and biotechnology market trends and provide business insights.
- Represent Medicilon at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
- Collaborate with internal scientific and operational teams to ensure client needs are effectively addressed.
- Support long-term client partnerships and business expansion initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong understanding of preclinical drug discovery and development processes.
- 3+ years of business development experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life science services industries.
- Experience working with CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical clients preferred.
- Established industry network and ability to develop strategic client relationships.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and business development skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Location
United States (Preferred locations: Greater Boston, MA or New Jersey. Remote candidates with strong pharmaceutical/biotech networks will also be considered.)
