How You’ll Make Your Mark

Your main tasks in this role are:

  • You’ll be leading ALDI Süd’s global strategic growth and expansion projects and initiatives Developing growth strategies for existing and new markets, market entry studies - as well as development strategies for other market verticals
  • In your role you’ll be evaluating, developing, defining and deploying business models globally
  • Preparing strategic and decision-making materials for internal stakeholders
  • You’ll be evaluating investment opportunities across the grocery retail, and other sectors
  • Executing M&A transactions, shaping deal strategies and tactics globally
  • As part of your role, you’ll be conducting in-depth research and analysis of markets, industries, and potential targets
  • Identifying relevant data sources to assess market and acquisition targets effectively
  • Creating comprehensive business cases for potential investment opportunities, including strategic fit, operational impact, and potential synergies
  • Building and supervising creation of detailed financial models
  • You’ll be setting up and independently running PMO / Project Management activities
  • Collaborating closely with divisions and teams across the ALDI Süd Group and external partners (including consultants, investment banks, and other advisors)

Your Profile

The requirements of the role include:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
  • 4-7 years of relevant experience working in top-tier in Strategy Consulting firm (e.g. McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Strategy&, Oliver Wyman, Kearney or similar) and/or Corporate Strategy / Business Development
  • Experience in strategic expansion and investment opportunity identification in the grocery retail sector or similar consumer goods sectors
  • Some M&A experience is beneficial (directly or through work with IBs), but not critical
  • Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in both quantitative (e.g., market modelling, financial modelling) and qualitative research
  • Ability to conduct in-depth market and industry analysis, identify relevant data sources, and develop comprehensive business cases including operational/commercial impacts
  • Strategic thinker who can craft clear, compelling insights and prepare decision-making materials for senior stakeholders
  • Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and ThinkCell is strongly advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to build trust and maintain open, effective communication with cross border internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • High commercial acumen and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and reliability in follow-through
  • Results-driven with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to manage complex projects end-to-end
  • Capacity to work with cross-functional teams and support post-merger integration activities
  • Proficiency in English

Remuneration

Gross annual salary starting from € 78.400*

  • willingness to overpay with appropriate qualifications
