The Axel Group is seeking a Business Development Manager for our client's team. This established and growing land surveying and consulting firm in the region is looking for a motivated sales professional to help expand its client base and strengthen existing relationships across New Jersey and the surrounding areas. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneurial, relationship-focused individual with industry experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction), surveying, civil engineering, or construction sectors. The position is well-suited for someone with an existing network, a proven track record in generating new business, and the ability to identify growth opportunities with current clients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive revenue growth.
- Prospect, nurture, and secure new client relationships within commercial, industrial, residential, municipal, utility, and infrastructure markets.
- Utilize an existing network and industry relationships to generate new opportunities.
- Grow existing client accounts by identifying additional surveying and consulting service needs.
- Engage with developers, architects, engineers, contractors, municipalities, and property owners to understand project requirements and promote the firm's full range of services.
- Represent the company at networking events, industry conferences, association meetings, and client functions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and deliver a seamless client experience.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and achieve or exceed business development goals.
- Stay informed on market trends, upcoming developments, and emerging opportunities throughout the region.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of successful business development or outside sales experience within land surveying, civil engineering, construction, or the AEC industry.
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business and build long-term client relationships.
- Existing relationships with industry decision-makers such as developers, engineering firms, municipalities, contractors, or architects are highly preferred.
- Proven experience managing a sales pipeline from prospecting to contract execution.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently.
- Willingness to travel throughout New Jersey and surrounding regions for meetings and industry events.
Compensation:
- Base salary: $110,000–$150,000, depending on experience.
- Bonus and commission structure based on successful client acquisition, account growth, and cross-selling.
