- 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Position Overview Wild West Systems is seeking a Business Development Manager to own both sides of the growth equation - building relationships that generate pipeline and serving as the primary customer-facing representative for WWS products in the field.
The right candidate has deep operational experience and personal credibility with the warfighter community, combined with the hunger to help build a company and grow a book of business. Prior defense industry experience is a plus, not a prerequisite. The ability to find opportunity, build relationships, and close is.
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and SOCOM communities - owning the relationship from first contact through pipeline entry
- Plan, coordinate, and execute live product demonstrations for operational units, commands, program offices, and government evaluators
- Cultivate and maintain relationships in the customer community
- Serve as the primary WWS representative at field engagements, capability assessments, and operational experiments
- Capture and document warfighter feedback from every customer interaction - translating operational pain points and TTPs into actionable product requirements for engineering and program leadership
- Develop customer-tailored solutions briefs and demonstration scenarios that connect WWS capabilities to specific unit missions and threat environments
- Support capture activities by providing operational context, customer intelligence, and user-level insight to the executive leadership
- Represent WWS at key industry and military events
- Natural ability to communicate complex technical capabilities in plain, mission-relevant language to audiences ranging from junior operators to general officers
- Comfort operating independently in dynamic, fast-moving environments with minimal administrative support
- S. Citizen or eligible to work under ITAR requirements
- Direct operational experience with UAS threats, counter-UAS TTPs, or lethal fires systems - you have used or operated against the kinds of threats WWS products address
- Established personal relationships within the customer community
- Experience in the defense industry technical sales, solutions engineering, or field applications role
- Familiarity with Army or SOCOM acquisition processes, OTAs, and rapid fielding pathways
