Role Overview
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for generating new business opportunities by identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential customers. This role sits at the front line of revenue growth—driving pipeline, opening doors, and fueling the sales engine.
This is a high-energy, high-accountability role for someone who thrives on outreach, rejection, and winning.
Core Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Identify and research target companies within aerospace, defense, and manufacturing
- Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified leads
- Utilize LinkedIn, phone, email, and other outbound channels daily
- Source RFQs and uncover new opportunities in the market
2. Outbound Sales Execution
- Conduct high-volume cold calling and email outreach
- Engage decision-makers and qualify opportunities quickly
- Deliver clear, confident messaging that reflects our value
- Book meetings and hand off qualified opportunities to Account Managers
3. Pipeline Management
- Track all activity in CRM accurately and consistently
- Maintain clean and organized prospect data
- Follow up relentlessly to move opportunities forward
4. Market Intelligence
- Gather insights on competitors, pricing trends, and customer needs
- Identify high-usage parts and buying patterns in the marketplace
- Provide feedback to sales and purchasing teams
