Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will manage all military programs in collaboration with sales and business management. The main scope of this position is to work with the various military programs to promote PPP products and the company itself to realize sales. Responsible for driving sales within existing and new military programs, assist with product definition based on customer requirements, collecting and analyzing data, and improving the overall customer experience. The Military Programs Manager is responsible for ensuring customer needs are understood and satisfied, for the assigned programs as well as new and developing programs. This position reports to the Director of Business Development
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and understand each program’s business and technical needs and wants
- Work collaboratively with the business to define and implement program needs
- Discuss and demonstrate PPP technology
- Ensure steady and organized follow-up on sales opportunities through emails, phone calls, etc. to ensure the expected level of sales
- Report progress of all ongoing activities on a weekly basis during team opportunity review
- Diligently utilize the CRM system to maintain record of communications, quoting, meetings, demonstrations and current/accurate forecasting
- Work collaboratively with regional manager to close program business and develop new program business
- Develop a large network of contacts and clients within the designated programs
- Participate in trade shows, technical events, open-house, sales meetings and other sales events
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of working days, most travel will be via Air.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or other relvant technical degree preferred
- MBA with Marketing concentration desirable
- 5 years of experience in sales in a manufacturing/technology environment and military program flow
- Experience in B2B technical sales, past Military programs sales management a plus
- Strong facilitation skills, including ability to negotiate both internally and when customer-facing, on commercial and technical matters.
- Self-directed and independent work ethic; measure and report progress against defined objectives
- Meticulous critical thinking skills; objective approach to analysis and total business impact.
- Excellent written skills appropriate for documents suitable for publication
