Slane Co. is partnering with a confidential, family-owned commercial flooring contractor to identify a Commercial Business Development Executive for its rapidly growing Raleigh office.


Our client delivers turnkey commercial flooring and tile solutions for some of the Southeast's most recognizable commercial construction projects. Their team partners with general contractors, commercial developers, construction managers, architects, designers, property owners, healthcare systems, universities, government agencies, hospitality groups, corporate clients, and multifamily developers, providing everything from budgeting and product selection through installation and project closeout.


Their capabilities include carpet, luxury vinyl and resilient flooring, hardwood, ceramic and porcelain tile, natural stone, polished concrete, floor preparation, leveling, moisture mitigation, and complete commercial flooring installation. This organization has earned a reputation for delivering complex, large-scale, and time-sensitive projects across multifamily, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, corporate interiors, government, industrial, and other commercial sectors.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, winning new business, managing client accounts, and remaining actively involved throughout the lifecycle of commercial construction projects - from pursuit and estimating through successful project completion.


Key Responsibilities


Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and qualify new commercial construction opportunities throughout the Triangle and surrounding markets
  • Develop relationships with general contractors, developers, architects, designers, owners, and construction managers
  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, industry events, and strategic outreach
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline within your assigned territory
  • Stay informed on market trends, upcoming projects, and competitive activity
  • Represent the company with professionalism while becoming a trusted resource within the commercial construction community


Sales & Estimating

  • Prepare budgets, cost estimates, proposals, and scopes of work for prospective clients
  • Guide clients through product selections, installation methods, and value-engineered solutions
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and project scope
  • Collaborate with internal estimating and operational teams to develop competitive, accurate proposals
  • Present solutions confidently while balancing customer needs with project profitability
  • Utilize the company's proprietary CRM and construction software platforms to manage opportunities and project information


Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the duration of each project
  • Build long-term partnerships that generate repeat business and referrals
  • Provide proactive communication and exceptional customer service from project award through completion
  • Manage multiple client relationships and project priorities simultaneously
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and strengthen client partnerships
  • Deliver a client experience that reinforces trust and long-term relationships


Project Leadership

  • Partner closely with the internal project coordination team to ensure successful project execution
  • Remain actively involved from project pursuit through final installation and closeout
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support scheduling, project updates, and client communication
  • Help resolve project challenges by working collaboratively with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor project progress while ensuring client expectations are met throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Take ownership of the overall client experience by helping deliver projects on time, within scope, and with a high level of quality
