POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) drives new business pipeline across the Americas by qualifying inbound leads and executing outbound prospecting. Working independently as the first point of contact, you will discover the business needs of end-users, resellers, and partners, and route qualified opportunities to the right sales channels. This role directly fuels new customer acquisition and channel growth. Work is primarily achieved individually or through project teams. Works independently with discretion and good judgment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead Qualification & Pipeline Development
- Qualify inbound leads from website inquiries, calls, email outreach, and marketing campaigns.
- Conduct discovery conversations to assess business needs, buying process, and opportunity fit.
- Determine appropriate sales channel and route qualified leads to Distributor, Preferred Reseller, or Sales Team.
- Perform outbound prospecting via phone and email to generate new opportunities.
- Identify and engage potential new resellers and large end-users to expand pipeline coverage.
Channel & End-User Engagement
- Maintain and update preferred reseller lists by region.
- Support both new customer acquisition and reseller/distributor growth initiatives.
- Serve as primary responder for small-to-mid-sized end-user inquiries.
- Follow up with assigned accounts to ensure engagement and progression.
Sales Support & CRM Management
- Log all activities, leads, and opportunity updates in Salesforce.
- Manage all leads through the sales pipeline stages.
- Schedule introductory discussions for Sales, Integrations, or Business Development when appropriate.
- Assist in managing sales campaigns and nurture efforts.
- Cover correspondence for sales personnel when out of office.
- Keep management informed of activity and pipeline development.
- Remain knowledgeable on products, solutions, and approved markets.
- Remain knowledgeable and up to date on changes and developments internal to STAR and external with our customers.
SKILLS:
- Experience with Salesforce preferred
- Excellent phone manner
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Sales or Business Development verticals -OR-
- Associate degree holder coupled with 2+ years of Sales or Customer Services experience -OR-
- Year-over-year, recent and relevant experience equivalent in related retail, sales, or marketing business verticals.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- 0% - 5% national travel to local offices as needed.
- Must maintain unexpired, valid state Driver’s License, REAL ID or US Passport Card
PAY RANGE:
It's a Full time - Exempt position eligible for full company benefits.
Pay = Base Salary +commissions +bonus
Base Salary Range: 45,000-50,000
