COMPENSATION & EARNINGS
- Base Salary: $50,000–$55,000 per annum
- 1st Year Total On-Target Earnings (OTE): $70,000–$85,000 per annum (base + performance incentives)

About the Role
Leyton is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Business Development Representative to join our high-performing sales team at our Houston, Texas office.
This is an exciting entry-level opportunity, ideal for recent college graduates or individuals at an early stage in their career who want to launch and grow their career in business development within a global consultancy. You will gain hands-on experience in prospecting, lead generation, client engagement, and collaboration with experienced Consultants and Business Development Managers. High performers will have clear opportunities to advance into senior business development roles within Leyton’s U.S. operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Conduct outbound cold calls (~80%), emails, and LinkedIn outreach to generate qualified leads.
- Research and identify potential clients using Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and industry directories.
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of prospects across multiple industries.
Client Engagement & Qualification
- Identify decision-makers, understand business needs, and qualify opportunities for Consultants or BDMs.
- Communicate Leyton’s service offerings and schedule discovery meetings.
- Maintain a positive and professional client experience at all times.
Sales Enablement & Reporting
- Accurately document all interactions in Salesforce, tracking leads, activities, and outcomes.
- Participate in regular sales strategy meetings and report progress to the Sales Manager.
- Collaborate with Consultants, BDMs, and cross-functional teams to optimize outreach strategies.
Target Achievement & Contribution
- Consistently meet and exceed monthly KPIs and revenue targets.
- Represent Leyton at industry events, networking sessions, and virtual meetings when required.
- Contribute ideas to enhance lead generation and sales processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- 1–2 years of inside sales, business development, or client-facing experience is an asset.
- Prior experience in prospecting, cold calling, or consulting/finance is advantageous.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using Salesforce CRM is preferred.
- Comfortable working in a remote/home office environment.
- Willingness to represent Leyton at local trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences to build relationships and generate new business opportunities.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Financing, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field is mandatory.
Competencies
- Strong business acumen with interest in innovation funding or financial products.
- Confident, persuasive communicator with excellent phone and email etiquette.
- Autonomous, results-driven, able to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce or other CRM experience is a plus.
