The key purpose of the Business Development Manager - Transmission & Distribution is to increase CHINT’s market share and strategically grow the business in the electrical energy and power industry for the key focus segments.
You will be responsible for the strategic sales and business development plans and activities.
You will also work together with other sales and marketing professionals locally, and with our corporate headquarters.
You will have a great opportunity to utilize your existing industry networks and contribute your skillsets in business development, strategic thinking and sales, especially T&D utility, data centres, renewable energy and mining.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and strategically sell CHINT’s complete solution portfolio into the selected market segments and represent CHINT as an innovator and leader in the electrical and technology industry.
- Implement client strategies for both new and existing targeted key accounts such as developers, end-users, authorities, consultants, EPC’s & contractors to ensure CHINT is a preferred partner of choice.
- Be responsible and accountable for screening and qualifying of new projects to build a healthy strategic pipeline.
- Early engagement in identifying projects to promote CHINT’s solutions and services into the project design scope before tender is released to improve win rates during sales and tendering stage.
- Understand the key decision makers and customer’s buying preferences to develop winning pursuit strategies. Identify the correct offering and channel to market, engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the best CHINT solution to the customer.
- Lead the customer interaction and drive the responsible teams throughout the entire process from pretender design stage and throughout the entire sales phase. Including the proposal & documentation, contract negotiations, price negotiations and securing of the order.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in areas of business development, sales & marketing, engineering or equivalent.
- Existing strong customer network connections with relevant industry players & decision makers.
- Detailed Knowledge of one or more of the following Market Segments: T&D utility, data centres, renewable energy, mining.
- Strong understanding of Medium/High Voltage switchgear, Components, Power and / or Distribution Transformers.
- Proven track record of successfully winning business for the organisation via business development/sales skillset.
- Practical understanding of the competitive landscape.
- Excellent understanding of the sales and tendering process and strong stakeholder management capabilities.
- High degree of adaptability and professionalism to increase the visibility, profile and reputation of the organisation
- Professional writing, speaking, presentation and negotiation skills are a must.
- Strong passion for delivering results and having attention to detail especially with understanding the customer’s real requirements.
