Position Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the growth of our brand portfolio by identifying, sourcing, and onboarding high-potential ecommerce brands. This role focuses on building strong relationships with brand owners, attending industry events and trade shows, and developing a consistent pipeline of partnership opportunities.
This is a highly relationship-driven, outbound role that blends business development, strategic evaluation, and deal sourcing to expand our brand ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Sourcing & Recruitment
- Identify and prospect high-potential ecommerce brands for partnership, distribution, or acquisition
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified brand opportunities
- Conduct outreach via trade shows, events, referrals, and direct prospecting
- Qualify brands based on performance, product fit, and growth potential
- Represent the company at trade shows, expos, and industry events
- Proactively engage with brand owners, founders, and decision-makers
- Build relationships and generate leads through in-person networking
- Follow up with leads and convert opportunities into active partnerships
- Develop and nurture long-term relationships with brand partners
- Act as a primary point of contact during early-stage conversations and onboarding
- Build trust and communicate the value of partnering with your company
- Maintain ongoing communication to uncover expansion opportunities
- Assess brands for alignment with company strategy, margins, and growth potential
- Collaborate with internal teams (finance and operations) to evaluate opportunities
- Support negotiations, onboarding, and partnership structuring
- Work closely with the marketing, and brand management teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new brands
- Provide insights from the field to inform brand strategy and category expansion
- Share feedback from prospects to refine positioning and outreach strategy
- Track outreach efforts, lead status, and conversion rates in CRM systems
- Report on pipeline growth, signed brands, and revenue contribution
- Continuously refine prospecting strategies to improve efficiency and results

Qualifications
Required
- Proven experience in business development, brand partnerships, or sales (preferably in ecommerce or consumer goods)
- Proven ability to source, develop, and close partnership opportunities
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills
- Experience with ecommerce brands (Amazon, DTC, wholesale, etc.)
- Background in brand management, distribution, or marketplace ecosystems
- Familiarity with CRM tools and pipeline management
- Experience working with founders or entrepreneurial brands
- Experience attending and working trade shows or industry events
