Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Strategic BD Manager – Industrial Automation & Robotics role based in Shanghai, VA. The Strategic BD Manager will identify and develop new business opportunities in industrial automation and robotics, focusing on applications for NdFeB magnets and related solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include market mapping, prospecting, building and nurturing relationships with OEMs, system integrators, and distributors, and managing the full business development lifecycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing. The role collaborates closely with product, engineering, and supply chain teams to align customer requirements with technical and manufacturing capabilities, prepare proposals and presentations, and support pricing and margin analysis. The Strategic BD Manager will also track industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments, contributing to long-term growth strategies and key account plans.
Qualifications

• Strong business development, account management, and B2B sales skills, including lead generation, pipeline management, and contract negotiation.
• Solid understanding of industrial automation, robotics, or motion control systems; experience with magnets or components used in EVs, automation equipment, or power tools is an advantage.
• Ability to conduct market research and analysis, segment customers, and develop data-driven go-to-market strategies.
• Proven skills in relationship-building, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural communication with global clients and partners.
• Comfortable working closely with technical teams, interpreting basic engineering drawings or specifications, and translating customer needs into feasible solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin or other languages is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Engineering, International Trade, or a related field; relevant experience in industrial automation or advanced manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Ability to work on-site, manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and travel as needed to visit customers, trade shows, or company facilities.
