Role Overview
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for leading sales operations across the pharmacy channel in Eastern Germany, driving revenue growth, profitability, and market share. This role combines strategic leadership, data-driven decision-making, and customer engagement while developing a high-performing field sales team and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the assigned sales territory with accountability for revenue, profitability, and market share.
- Identify business opportunities and develop strategic initiatives to drive sustainable growth.
- Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop the field sales team while fostering a high-performance culture.
- Utilize sales data and key performance indicators to improve sales excellence and business performance.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to support regional business development.
- Manage sales forecasts and business planning activities.
- Execute go-to-market initiatives, including Perfect Store, Value-Based Selling, and Revenue Growth Management strategies.
- Contribute to cross-functional and channel-level strategic projects beyond the assigned territory.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Several years of sales experience within the pharmacy channel, preferably in OTC, Consumer Health, or Skincare.
- Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing sales teams.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification; pharmaceutical representative certification is advantageous.
- Strong business acumen with a results-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data and digital sales tools.
- Professional proficiency in German and English.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Germany.
