Job Summary: Sports Tourism & Business Development Mgr

Entry Rate: $74,306.56/YR - salaried position

Hours: 40 hours/week; Mostly day hours; however the job will require some evenings, weekends, and overnight travel. This is not a work from home or hybrid job.

Position Overview: This role focuses on recruiting and developing partnerships with private businesses to establish a comprehensive multi-sport complex, including a sports health component. The coordinator will also create strategies to enhance sports tourism and maximize economic impact through event group travel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with event organizers, facility managers, and sports organizations.
• Lead the sports tourism process from opportunity identification to event execution, including managing contracts and client relationships.
• Create B2B opportunities through sports initiatives.
• Represent Gallatin at conferences and trade shows, promoting the city as a sports destination.
• Identify and recruit sporting events that can boost visitor spending and economic impact.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Tourism, Hospitality, Marketing, or Business Administration.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in business development and sports event marketing.
• Experience with the Tourism Economics Event Impact Calculator is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.

• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
• Strong project and time management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of public relations practices.
