- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities in both government/defense and commercial aerospace markets
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, contracting officers, primes, and commercial clients
- Lead proposal development efforts, including capture strategy, teaming arrangements, and proposal writing coordination
- Monitor government procurement pipelines (SAM.gov, GovWin, etc.) and commercial market trends to identify upcoming opportunities
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
- Collaborate closely with engineering and leadership teams to align business development efforts with technical capabilities
- Maintain and grow our pipeline using CRM tools, providing regular reporting to leadership
- Support contract negotiations and assist in onboarding new clients
Required:
- 3–6 years of business development, capture management, or sales experience in aerospace, defense, or a related engineering industry
- Familiarity with both government contracting processes (FAR/DFARS, proposal requirements, clearance levels) and commercial client development
- Demonstrated track record of winning new business or expanding existing accounts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience supporting proposal efforts
- Self-starter mentality — comfortable operating with autonomy in a small-company environment
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Existing relationships within DoD, NASA, or other government agencies
- Experience with CRM platforms
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field
- Must be a U.S. citizen
