Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, territory manager role based in Victoria, with flexibility for some work from home. This position focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities within Victoria, building strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and dealer networks. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying leads, conducting client meetings and presentations, preparing and negotiating commercial proposals, and managing the sales pipeline from initial contact to deal closure. The role also involves collaborating with internal credit, operations, and product teams to tailor finance solutions, monitoring market trends and competitor activity, and maintaining accurate records in CRM systems. The Business Development Manager will be expected to meet revenue and growth targets while providing ongoing account management and support to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management within financial services, commercial lending, or related sectors.
  • Strong skills in lead generation, pipeline management, and consultative selling, with the ability to close complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Excellent relationship-building, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation abilities, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Solid analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret financial information and market data.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including experience delivering presentations and preparing professional proposals.
  • Comfort with CRM tools, basic financial software, and general digital productivity tools; ability to work efficiently in a hybrid environment.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, finance, commerce, or a related discipline are highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of floorplan, asset, or distribution finance and experience working with manufacturers, distributors, or dealer networks is an advantage.
