Business Development Representative

COMPENSATION: $80,000-$120,000/YR (based on experience) + commission

Reports To: VP, Sales & Marketing

Position Summary


The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities and growing existing customer and partner relationships by selling SitePro's software, Edge devices, hardware, implementation services, and recurring subscription solutions.

This is a consultative sales role focused on understanding customer operational challenges and positioning SitePro as a long-term technology partner. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, solving operational problems, and helping customers modernize their infrastructure through automation and digital transformation.

SitePro's customers require more than software—they need a trusted advisor who understands their operations, identifies opportunities for improvement, and brings together the right technical resources to deliver successful outcomes.


Key Responsibilities


Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy focused on assigned industries and geographic markets.
  • Prospect, qualify, and develop new business opportunities through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline capable of achieving quarterly and annual revenue objectives.
  • Manage opportunities from initial discovery through contract execution.

Customer/Partner Development

  • Build trusted relationships with municipal, industrial, energy, agricultural, and infrastructure customers.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand operational challenges, business objectives, and technical requirements.
  • Position SitePro software, hardware, services, implementation, and recurring subscription offerings as comprehensive solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships through additional applications and platform adoption.

Sales Execution

  • Lead customer presentations, software demos, proposal reviews, negotiations, and closing activities.
  • Lead and coordinate with sales applications and engineering teams on complex technical opportunities, site assessments, and solution architecture.
  • Engage leads with software demonstrations, API discussions, and reviews of platform capabilities.
  • Identify and engage opportunities involving potential partners, including distributors, system integrators, or OEM relationships.

Market Intelligence

  • Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitive solutions, customer challenges, and emerging technologies.
  • Willingness to explore new industries and identify niche applications for our platform.
  • Provide customer feedback to support future platform development.
  • Represent SitePro professionally at customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, and industry association events.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of successful B2B sales experience in industrial technology, automation, software, controls, SCADA, IIoT, utilities, energy, or related industries.
  • Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close complex sales opportunities, include direct sales and partnership agreements.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing opportunities within a CRM.
  • Willingness to travel throughout assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling industrial software, SCADA, automation, controls, telemetry, or cloud-based technology solutions.
  • Existing relationships within municipal utilities, oil & gas, power generation, agriculture, or other industrial markets.
  • Experience working alongside engineering and technology teams.
  • Familiarity with recurring revenue and SaaS business models.
