Director of Strategic Development, Ukraine

Ecolog International is seeking an experienced senior professional to spearhead a key group strategy; their expansion in Ukraine. With three decades of global experience leading large scale projects on behalf of major multinational humanitarian, defence and corporate organisations, Ecolog is determined to become a key partner in the relief and recovery of Ukraine, working with government and international partners both now, and after the full scale invasion has ended.

Ecolog operates in over 50 countries globally, delivering a range of services including large scale logistics and food supply, base operations, catering, infrastructure construction, rapid response healthcare, refugee centres, waste management and environmental solutions, and as such is one of the few major global firms with the capabilities and expertise to deliver vital services reliably and at scale in complex environments.

We are seeking a senior executive to build on early progress in Ukraine through working with the senior leadership team to develop and then execute a strategy that will deliver transformative growth in operations across the country. This high level and complex role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities including:

• Develop/utilise a network of contacts in the sector to identify opportunities with NGOs, donor government and supranational bodies (eg EU, NATO, World Bank) for relevant projects.
• Monitor new tenders and existing projects coming up for tender from government, defence and NGOS
• Develop on the ground capabilities where needed to deploy as part of any specific client need, from partners, to warehousing, logistics partners and alike.
• Work with Ecolog bid and technical teams as well as other experts to provide solutions for potential bids and to be able to proactively propose solutions to clients with a defined need.

This vital role will enjoy both a high profile both within Ecolog, but also across Ukraine and its’ partners, and carries with it the reputation and potential success of the firms’ strategy in the country. As such we are strictly seeking individuals of the highest calibre, with the proven strategic, business development, commercial and diplomatic skills to carry out this role effectively. As such we are seeking applications only from individuals with all of the following requirements:

Essential:

• A professional working knowledge of the structure, mechanisms, people and processes that make up the Ukrainian defence, government and humanitarian market, with a particular focus on those entities with the responsibility for defence, reconstruction, relief and recovery
• At least 5 years’ broad experience of working with foreign governmental, humanitarian and defence organisations such as the EU entities, NATO, USAID, DOS, FCDO, World Bank and EBRD.
• Demonstrable experience in related sectors such as humanitarian aid, post conflict relief, defence services, large scale logistics or critical infrastructure
• Must have operated at a senior level, such as Director, Country Head, CEO or alike and will have held primary responsibility for the development and execution of significant strategic assignments.
