Role Description The Business Development & Partnership Specialist is a full-time role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site collaboration and some work from home. The specialist will identify and qualify partnership opportunities, build and maintain relationships with retail industry stakeholders, and support business growth initiatives across Asia. Daily responsibilities include conducting market research, generating leads, preparing proposals and presentations, and coordinating partnership meetings and follow-ups. The role will also involve supporting client engagement, contributing to the design of training and consulting offerings, and tracking performance metrics to optimize business development strategies. Collaboration with internal teams to align partnership activities with AsiaRAC’s mission and brand positioning is essential.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical Skills to interpret market data, assess partnership opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal abilities to build relationships, conduct negotiations, and present proposals clearly.
- Proficiency in Lead Generation and Market Research to identify prospects, map industry trends, and grow AsiaRAC’s network.
- Customer Service mindset to ensure positive stakeholder experiences and maintain long-term partnerships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in business development, partnerships, or sales, ideally within training, education, consulting, or retail sectors.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Comfort with digital tools (CRM systems, presentation software, online communication platforms) and basic reporting skills.
- Proficiency in English; additional regional languages are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel within the region for client meetings, events, or partnership engagements when required.
