Business Development Manager - Automotive SaaS Sales
Location: Field based - occasional travel to London, regular travel to client sites
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £70,000 base + OTE (depending on experience)
Our client is a rapidly expanding automotive technology and SaaS business, backed by US venture capital and operating globally. They're looking for a proven new business hunter to build a pipeline of new opportunities across the UK dealer ecosystem. Automotive industry experience is essential. This is a pure new business role, so if you thrive on opening doors and winning new logos, not managing existing relationships, read on.
The business is in an exciting growth phase, expanding its product suite through innovation and strategic acquisitions. They foster a culture of autonomy, accountability and commercial excellence, attracting self-directed professionals who are curious, resilient and entrepreneurial.
Responsibilities:
- Build a new business pipeline through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, trade events and referrals
- Engage across the full dealer ecosystem — Marketing, Sales and Aftersales Directors — positioning solutions as revenue-generating tools
- Conduct discovery calls and on-site meetings to qualify and close opportunities
- Manage the full sales cycle independently from first contact through contract execution
- Lead sales conversations using value and ROI frameworks, backed by data and case studies
- Use AI tools daily for prospect research, stakeholder intelligence and pitch preparation
- Maintain accurate pipeline data in HubSpot with disciplined forecast reporting
Requirements:
- Automotive industry experience is essential; aftersales experience is highly desirable
- 3–5+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, ideally within the automotive/dealership sector
- Consistent track record of opening new accounts — this is a hunter role, not account management
- Ability to manage the full sales cycle independently, including cold prospecting through close
- Experience selling on value and ROI, building business cases with data and financial models
- Knowledge of DMS systems and aftersales KPIs (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated use of AI tools for research, pitch development or sales preparation
- Proficient in HubSpot or comparable CRM
- Background in ambitious, growth-focused software businesses driven by new business acquisition
- Entrepreneurial, commercially sharp, resilient and self-directed
Benefits:
- Up to £70,000 base salary + OTE (depending on experience)
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Employer pension contribution of up to 6%
- Private Medical Insurance
