Clayton Services is seeking a Sales Manager to join a rapidly growing custom-manufacturing cabinetmaker in Houston. The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving new business development, cultivating strategic relationships, and expanding market presence within the builder, contractor, developer, and design communities. This individual will play a critical role in accelerating revenue growth and developing long-term client partnerships.


Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $90,000 - $120,000 plus profit sharing and bonus opportunities

Sales Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives to generate new revenue opportunities and expand market share
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new accounts within residential and commercial construction markets
  • Build and maintain relationships with builders, developers, general contractors, remodelers, architects, interior designers, and related industry professionals
  • Leverage existing industry connections to create immediate project opportunities and establish a sustainable sales pipeline
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and consultations to understand project requirements and propose customized solutions
  • Prepare project estimates, proposals, and bid packages while negotiating pricing and contract terms
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation through project completion and payment collection
  • Collaborate with internal design, production, and installation teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction
  • Track sales activities, forecasts, pipeline development, and key performance metrics
  • Develop strategies to increase repeat business, referrals, and long-term account growth
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging business opportunities throughout the Houston market
  • Represent the organization at networking events, industry associations, trade shows, and community events


Sales Manager Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong business development and relationship-building capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and convert prospects into revenue-generating accounts
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
  • Ability to develop strategic sales plans and execute independently
  • Strong understanding of project-based sales environments and consultative selling methodologies
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems


Sales Manager Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
  • Five or more years of business development, sales leadership, or account management experience in construction, building products, manufacturing, millwork, cabinetry, or related industries
  • Established relationships within the Houston builder, contractor, developer, remodeling, architecture, or design communities are strongly preferred
  • Proven history of generating new business and achieving aggressive revenue targets
  • Experience managing complex, project-based sales opportunities from prospecting through close
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute market expansion strategies and build long-term client partnerships
