The Position:
This is a contractor/consultant position. Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, the Business Development Representative is responsible for building new long term relationships with companies that buy and/or sell a variety of reusable goods to and from other countries around the world. Those salvaged second-hand goods could range from shoes to mixed rags, credential clothing, books, toys etc. We are looking for an experienced member of the wholesale textile industry that lives in Texas but near the Mexican border. You will bring industry knowledge and excellent communication, networking and negotiation skills. You will be hired as a contractor/consultant working for our Canadian based company.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, nurture, and convert inbound customer and supplier leads into long term accounts, ensuring a smooth transition to our experienced Account Management team.
- Proactively identify, prospect, and engage high potential customers and suppliers across assigned markets to generate new business opportunities.
- Clearly communicate Bank & Vogue's value proposition, products, and services to prospective customers and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up to date customer information, sales activities, and opportunities within SuiteCRM.
- Represent Bank & Vogue at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events as required.
- Meet or exceed established monthly activity and business development targets.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Bank & Vogue's products, services, sourcing capabilities, and industry trends.
- Build professional relationships with prospective customers and suppliers through phone, email, virtual meetings, and in person visits.
- Travel throughout the United States, and occasionally internationally, to visit prospective customers, suppliers, and industry events as required.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Account Management teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and support business growth.
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes and experience:
- Linguistic fluency in English and Spanish is a requirement.
- The ability to cross the Mexican border.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication, networking and negotiation skills.
- Positive, solution-oriented, and customer-service focused.
- Proficiency in the use of social media tools such as LinkedIn.
- Competent IT skills with tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Drive.
- Great organizational skills and time management.
- Willingness to travel and work with a global team.
- Strong self-motivation and tenacity, as this is an independent contractor role (~40 hours/week)
