Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Brooklyn, NY. This position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with prospective and existing clients, and expanding Greenery NYC’s presence across key market segments. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and outreach, leading client meetings and presentations, preparing proposals and pricing, and coordinating with design and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery. The Business Development Manager will track sales pipelines, analyze market trends, and report on performance to inform growth strategies. This role also involves representing the company at networking events, industry functions, and site visits, while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience and long-term partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally in design, architecture, construction, or related industries.
  • Strong skills in client relationship building, negotiation, and consultative selling, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Ability to conduct market research, identify opportunities, and develop strategic plans that support sustainable growth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear proposals and deliver persuasive presentations.
  • Comfort working on-site, conducting walkthroughs, and collaborating closely with creative, operations, and installation teams.
  • Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deals, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong interest in plants, interior design, or environmental sustainability; prior experience in a greenery, design, or construction is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and common office software (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations) to manage pipelines and report on performance.
