Business Development Director Northern Europe (India-based)

You will report directly to the Regional VP Sales, EMEA and be responsible for landing new logo accounts, building pipeline, and closing high-value, strategic training partnerships across the Nordic region (including Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland).
Key Responsibilities
- Own and achieve an individual quarterly and annual new business quota across the UK and Nordics.
- Identify, target, and close net new business opportunities with large enterprises (F500 and multinational organisations).
- Engage senior HR, L&D, Procurement, and Business Unit stakeholders with a consultative, insight-led sales approach.
- Lead the full sales lifecycle from prospecting through discovery, solution scoping, proposal development, commercial negotiation, and deal closure.
- Build and maintain a rolling pipeline through self-sourced activity and proactive outreach.
- Position NIIT’s value proposition in both traditional L&D outsourcing and digital transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with marketing to raise brand awareness and generate localised demand.
- Accurately manage CRM data (HubSpot) and report on pipeline health, forecasts, and conversion metrics.
- Represent NIIT at trade events, webinars, and key client meetings across the UK and Nordics.
- A bachelor's or associate's degree in marketing, sales, or a related field may be advantageous.
- Required Experience
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in B2B solution sales, ideally in Managed Training Services (MTS), Corporate Learning, or Learning Technology.
- Demonstrated success selling to Fortune 500 or large enterprise clients with long, complex buying cycles.
- Strong hunter mentality: driven by pipeline building, outreach, and proactive engagement.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken); Nordic language proficiency is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage high-value proposals and close multi-stakeholder deals.
- Familiar with CRM best practices (HubSpot experience a plus).
- Experience in remote-first, multinational team structures preferred.
- Cultural familiarity with doing business in Nordic countries is advantageous.
