The role
Sales Account Managers are responsible for assisting in bringing on new business from Multinational Companies, where decision makers are based outside of Mexico. They will also be responsible for improving and growing the relations of customers within their segments who require local representation.
What you'll do on a typical day
Business and Sales Management
- Evaluate and identify opportunities for the company by constantly working with the US sellers and sales enablement.
- Drive account profitability of the Mexico business through sales plan support and execution.
- Negotiate beyond price to create mutually beneficial agreements between customers and the company by adding Mexican Market expertise.
- Evaluate accounts to determine if they will be candidates for a MBCs or for a Mexico Sales Representative.
- Make strategic choices, identify trends, threats, and opportunities.
- Stay abreast of competition and industry trends that may impact Mexico customer’s value proposition
- Act as a point of escalation for local stakeholders when action plans and additional intervention is necessary.
Strategic Planning: Execute the following activities for the customers within the MBCs segment:
- Facilitate all aspects of the MX annual business planning process
- Business plan creations
- KPI scorecards and plan adjustments
- Determine the necessary resources to efficiently manage the Mexico business of the customers.
- Identify targeted solutions to satisfy customers short-term needs and long-term objectives with any possible Mexico freight solution.
Operations Management
- Develop, communicate, and implement SOPs as needed for customer’s specific requirements making sure that everything at the point of sale is correctly transmitted to the Operations team.
- Create thorough implementation plans, including account responsibilities in coordination with operations management
- Effectively communicate with internal and external contacts about any change in the market that could put in risk the strategy in place for that customer and realign resources if necessary.
What you need to succeed
- Experience in account management, sales, or business development.
- Strong knowledge of the Mexico market and cross-border logistics/trade.
- Proven ability to drive business growth, profitability, and strategic account planning.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using KPIs and business metrics to make decisions.
- Ability to collaborate across sales, operations, and customer-facing teams.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and escalation management skills.
- Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency preferred.
The Details
- Location: Full-time onsite in Guadalajara.
- Compensation: Strong base salary + benefits.
- Work environment: 5 days a week in-office. Hours are 8 AM–5 PM
