The Opportunity
As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you'll be the first point of contact for future Polaris clients.
You'll identify manufacturers that fit our ideal customer profile, uncover opportunities, engage decision-makers, and generate qualified meetings for our sales team. You'll learn how enterprise manufacturing sales works from experienced leaders while developing skills that can accelerate your career into an Account Executive role.
You'll learn how to research companies, understand manufacturing operations, identify business challenges, and build relationships with executives responsible for major technology investments.
What You'll Do
- Research manufacturers and key decision-makers using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Apollo
- Execute multi-channel outreach campaigns through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other prospecting methods
- Identify trigger events and business opportunities that create meaningful sales conversations
- Qualify inbound and outbound opportunities
- Schedule discovery meetings and product demonstrations for our sales team
- Maintain prospect activity and pipeline information within our CRM
- Partner closely with Account Executives and sales leadership to refine messaging and improve results
- Develop expertise in smart manufacturing, Industry 4.0, automation, and digital transformation technologies
- Attend industry events and gain exposure to manufacturing operations and technology trends

What You Bring
- Experience in sales, customer service, business development, recruiting, internships, or other customer-facing roles
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with new people
- A self-starter mentality and willingness to take initiative
- High energy, resilience, and comfort with outreach and prospecting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Curiosity and a desire to learn about manufacturing, automation, and technology
- A coachable mindset and eagerness to build a long-term career in sales
Bonus Points For
- Experience with prospecting, lead generation, or customer-facing work
- Exposure to manufacturing, industrial technology, engineering, or automation
- Internship experience in sales or business development
