Public Procurement Growth Lead
Function: Find, qualify, and submit tender bids for Sorsix and its partners
Tool: The platform (internal procurement intelligence)
System role: ADMIN (screening rules, channels, pipeline, users)
Reports to: Head of Business Development / Sorsix leadership
Works with: Engineering and business-development teams across the EU, Australia, Canada, and the US; plus legal, finance, and external partners
Purpose
Win public tenders for Sorsix, and grow the pipeline that feeds them. The core job is to find, qualify, and submit bids - on behalf of Sorsix, and where it strengthens the bid, together with consortium partners - every business day. Treat it like a business you own: this is a growth role with the autonomy and accountability of a founder, standing up and scaling Sorsix's public-sector pipeline from the front. The person doing it brings an engineering and entrepreneurial mindset and leans hard on AI and agentic tools to do it at scale. Tender experience is not required; technical aptitude, drive, and a fast learning curve are.
What the role does
Apply on behalf of Sorsix and partners (the primary job). Drive qualified opportunities through the pipeline (RELEVANT -> PURSUING -> SUBMITTED -> WON / LOST), assemble each response with the help of AI assistants, and run the submission on its source portal to the deadline - as Sorsix alone or within a consortium. Track everything in My Bids and keep statuses live for the team.
Build partnerships and consortia. Many tenders need a local partner, a prime, or a capability Sorsix does not carry alone. Source and manage a bench of partners and subcontractors, and structure teaming and consortium arrangements so Sorsix can bid where it otherwise could not.
Collaborate across teams and jurisdictions. Work hand in hand with Sorsix's engineering and business-development teams across the EU, Australia, Canada, and the US - aligning each bid with delivery capacity, pulling in solution and technical owners to shape the response, and adapting to local procurement rules, languages, and time zones.
Find and qualify daily. Monitor the ~2,600-tender catalog the platform aggregates from ~17 procurement and grant portals (EU TED, MK, RS, HR, DE, GB, AU, NZ, CA, US, and more). Clear the NEW queue each day, use the Buyers view to target the authorities worth pursuing, and weigh value, deadline runway, incumbent risk, and fit. Most notices should be IGNORED fast so the few real ones get real effort.
Keep the funnel sharp, so you can work at volume. Because the job is high-throughput, tune the system so the good tenders surface themselves: own the screening rules (CPV allowlists, keyword include/exclude, portal / country / value scopes) and the AI relevance score (0-100), build precise Channels (portals, countries, CPV, keywords, relevance floor, EUR-normalized value bands, deadline windows), and use AI and agentic tools to summarize, compare, and pre-qualify at scale. A manual decision always wins over the machine.
Keep it healthy and report. Watch ingest health (Pipeline, Portals), flag connector gaps, and report weekly on funnel movement, win rate, and pipeline value.
Must-haves
- Entrepreneurial, growth-minded ownership: treats the pipeline as a business to build, takes initiative, and pushes to scale wins
- Analytical background - engineering, economics, or another quantitative or technical field; thinks in systems, filters, and feedback loops
- High learning aptitude - picks up new domains, tools, and data models fast. This is crucial.
- Fluent with AI and agentic tools, and eager to automate repetitive work rather than just perform it
- Comfort with structured data, queries, scoring, and CPV-style taxonomies
- Sharp commercial judgment, a bias to close, and relentless attention to deadlines
- Comfortable coordinating multiple teams across jurisdictions and time zones (EU, Australia, Canada, US)
- Working English; a regional language is a plus (translations are provided in-app)
- No previous procurement or bid experience is required
Success metrics
Zero winnable tenders missed - bids submitted (solo and consortium) - on-time submission rate - NEW queue decided daily - win rate - quarter-over-quarter growth in qualified pipeline value and wins - and rising decisions-per-hour as automation improves.
Tools
Primary cockpit is the platform with ADMIN rights (Dashboard, Tenders, Channels, Buyers, My Bids, Screening rules, Pipeline, Portals, Emails), extended with AI and agentic tooling. Submission happens on the source portals; the platform is the system of record for discovery, scoring, decisions, and pipeline status.
