We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Business Development Manager (BDM) at Logistiq, part of the Landmark Group. Logistiq is a dynamic, fast-growing logistics company in the GCC, with the vision to provide world-class logistics accessible to all. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of services from last mile delivery, warehousing to freight forwarding, trucking & distribution.
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, acquiring customers, and developing long-term strategic relationships across Logistiq's freight and logistics portfolio. The role will focus on generating profitable business across Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Land Transport, Customs Clearance, Warehousing, and Project Logistics while ensuring strong customer satisfaction and sustainable revenue growth.
Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Sales
- Identify and acquire new customers across Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Land Transport, Customs Clearance, Warehousing, and Project Logistics.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve monthly and annual revenue and GP targets.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, cold calling, and other business development channels.
- Conduct customer visits, presentations, and business meetings to understand logistics requirements and identify opportunities.
- Identify new business opportunities, emerging trade lanes, and potential market segments.
- Prepare and present quotations, proposals, tenders, and commercial solutions to prospective customers.
- Negotiate freight rates, pricing, contracts, and commercial terms with customers.
2. Customer Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key customers and decision-makers.
- Conduct regular customer visits and business reviews to understand changing requirements and identify opportunities for account growth.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and service quality.
- Resolve customer complaints and concerns in coordination with relevant operations and support teams.
- Identify opportunities to increase customer yield through value-added logistics services.
3. Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor market trends, freight rates, competitor activities, and industry developments.
- Identify emerging trade lanes, customer segments, and market opportunities.
- Provide regular market intelligence and customer feedback to management.
- Recommend strategies to improve market positioning, customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Pricing, Operations, Customs Clearance, Transport, and Customer Service teams to develop competitive and profitable solutions.
- Ensure smooth execution of shipments and services after securing new business.
- Monitor service quality and customer performance and address issues proactively.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer commitments and service expectations are met.
5. Revenue & Performance Management
- Achieve agreed Gross Profit (GP), revenue, and business development targets.
- Focus on acquiring profitable business rather than volume alone.
- Monitor customer profitability, yield, and revenue performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer yield through cross-selling and value-added logistics solutions.
- Maintain accurate CRM records covering customer interactions, opportunities, pipeline, and sales activities.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
- Present sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and business performance updates to management.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5–8 years of experience in business development or B2B sales within freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
- Proven track record of acquiring new customers and achieving revenue and GP targets.
- Strong experience across freight forwarding and logistics solutions is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Land Transport, Customs Clearance, Warehousing, and Project Logistics.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills with the ability to assess customer profitability and business opportunities.
