Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Regional Business Development Manager to lead commercial growth across the United States for an innovative technology and services organization supporting the industrial technology, technical solutions and natural resources industry company.
This role is responsible for developing and executing regional sales strategies, building a high-value pipeline from the ground up, cultivating strategic customer relationships, and closing complex enterprise opportunities. The ideal candidate combines strong business development experience with the ability to understand technical solutions and communicate value to mining customers.
Primary markets include key regions throughout the western United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Identify target markets, customer segments, and industry trends to position solutions effectively.
- Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation through contract negotiation and close.
- Build a qualified sales pipeline while developing new business opportunities within assigned territories.
- Expand market presence by identifying high-value strategic accounts and new geographic opportunities.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new products, services, and market initiatives.
- Establish and maintain long-term relationships with enterprise customers and key decision-makers.
- Create account growth strategies that increase customer retention, cross-selling opportunities, and long-term partnerships.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to identify future business opportunities.
- Establish sales objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics aligned with organizational goals.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and commercial updates to leadership.
- Collaborate closely with technical, product, marketing, operations, and customer success teams to deliver high-quality customer solutions.
- Share market intelligence and contribute to the continued growth and development of the commercial organization.
What You'll Be Doing Every day is different, but responsibilities typically include:
- Reviewing CRM activity to prioritize opportunities, customer outreach, and pipeline progression.
- Meeting with prospective and existing customers to understand operational challenges and present technical solutions.
- Developing customized commercial proposals, pricing strategies, and contract recommendations.
- Collaborating with internal technical experts to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements.
- Traveling to customer sites, mine operations, industry conferences, and networking events.
- Gathering market intelligence and customer feedback to support future product and service enhancements.
- Providing regular pipeline forecasts and strategic sales updates to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
- Proven success in business development, enterprise sales, account management, or commercial leadership.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue goals.
- Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using CRM platforms and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing complex enterprise sales opportunities with long sales cycles.
- Background in mining, natural resources, industrial technology, engineering services, drilling, or related industries.
- Understanding of mining operations, geological workflows, mineral exploration, or resource development.
- Knowledge of exploration drilling, resource definition drilling, laboratory services, or related mining technologies.
- Experience selling technical, software, instrumentation, data, or technology-driven solutions into industrial markets.
- Experience working within cross-functional commercial teams.
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience is a plus but not required.

Travel
- Approximately 40–60% domestic travel to customer locations, mine sites, conferences, and industry events.
