SALES LEAD SPECIALIST

The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, persistent, and comfortable talking with customers. This person does not need to be a technical expert, but must be curious, detail-oriented, and able to understand application information for industrial equipment.
This position reports to a Sales Manager.
Qualifications
- Friendly, confident, and professional communication style
- Enjoy talking with customers and asking helpful questions
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail
- Organized and able to manage multiple active leads and quotes
- Comfortable using CRM systems, Excel, and other sales tools
- Able to understand and document technical application information
- Persistent without being pushy
- Able to work independently and keep work flowing without constant direction
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience in inside sales, customer service, sales support, or a manufacturing/industrial environment preferred
- Quickly contact new leads and begin the qualification process
- Ask initial questions to learn the customer’s need, timing, application, and next step
- Help customers and sales representatives gather the information needed for RFQs
- Track active leads and help keep opportunities from stalling
- Follow up with salespeople and reps to confirm progress on assigned leads
- Step in directly when needed to keep opportunities moving
- Ensure quick first follow-up after quotes are sent, confirming receipt, identifying immediate needs and establishing next steps.
- Maintain accurate CRM notes, statuses, contacts, and follow-up tasks
- Support sales management with lead, quote, and opportunity tracking
- Provide cross-coverage for Inside Sales Specialist responsibilities as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager
- New qualified leads are contacted quickly and professionally
- Customer needs, timing, and application information are captured clearly
- RFQs are completed faster and with fewer gaps
- Early-stage opportunities have clear next steps and do not fall through the cracks
- First quote follow-up happens quickly, whether completed directly or through the assigned salesperson or representative
- Quote follow-up notes are clear enough for Inside Sales, sales management, and reps to understand status and next steps
- Customers experience fast, helpful, and professional communication from inquiry through initial quote follow-up
